SASKATOON — Three people have been arrested after a man was robbed, unlawfully confined, and assaulted in Saskatoon Wednesday night.

Saskatoon Police Services says that on July 27 at around 2:45 a.m., police were called to a business in the 1400 block of Idylwyld Drive North after a man approached staff looking for help.

There, say police, they were told by a 42-year-old man that he had been at a business in the 100 block of 33rd Street West at around 11 p.m. on July 26 when he was approached by a woman asking for a ride. He said he drove her to the area of 36th Street West where he was then assaulted by a group of people, robbed of his property, and taken to an address in the 1500 block of Avenue F North to be unlawfully confined.

Investigation later led police to the area of Westview Place where three suspects were observed approaching the victim’s stolen vehicle. All were arrested without incident, say police, and a search of their persons found the remainder of the victim’s stolen property, as well as methamphetamine and cocaine.

As a result, two women and one man, ages 34, 31 and 26 respectively, are all charged with robbery, unlawful confinement and assault. The 31-year-old woman is also charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
