LANIGAN — The new Lanigan School is on schedule with construction of the new school.
Horizon School division gave an update on the new Lanigan School and said with the mild weather, the project is largely on schedule. The new school is taking shape with the exterior windows and decking currently being installed.
The Horizon School Division said the Lanigan school project team continues to make significant progress. All structural steel has been completed, and the focus has shifted towards masonry and hoarding.
The new school is expected to be substantially complete by February 2025, with total completion expected later that spring. During the latter part of the 2024-25 school year, a portion of students and staff will begin moving into the new facility. The Horizon School division said this phased approach ensures a smooth transition while allowing construction and demolition activities to continue with minimal disruption.
The existing elementary and high schools are scheduled for abatement and demolition during the summer of 2025. The final touches on the site, including landscaping and parking lot construction, are slated for completion during the fall of 2025.
