NORTH BATTLEFORD – A Losses of Public Money report for the second quarter of the 2023-24 Living Sky School Division No. 202 fiscal year shows a loss of over $15,000 from the months September to December 2022.
According to the report, it is alleged that a school employee misappropriated the funds in the amount of $15,152 during the above time.
The employee was terminated from their position and the matter was reported to the RCMP. The school division has since increased the frequency of internal audits and is implementing new online software for accepting fees and payments in order to reduce the volume of cash handled in the schools.
