The non-binding vote was defeated, with 1,538, or 59.5 per cent, voting no, and 1,046, or 40.5 per cent, expressing their support.

For Kienle the work begins immediately with the official swearing in at City Hall Friday, and the first meeting with him in the big chair Nov. 25.

The election determined who the new six city councillors will be for the next four years, along with the new trustees for Prairie Â鶹´«Ã½AV and Holy Trinity Catholic school divisions.

All public school board trustees were re-elected, except for new trustee Brandon-Shea Mutala in Subdivision 6.
