SASKATOON — A 26-year-old woman was arrested in Saskatoon following a hit and run in North Battleford on Monday.

On June 10, at about 11:10 p.m. members of Saskatoon Police Patrol attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1800 Block of Idylwyld Drive North. The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle flagged for a hit and run out of North Battleford by Saskatchewan RCMP earlier that night.

As officers activated emergency lights, the vehicle accelerated forward over a curb which disabled it. Two women exited the vehicle and fled on foot before being arrested shortly after.

After further investigation, one of the women was found to be in possession of a folding knife; it was also found that the vehicle had been reported stolen.

As a result, the woman is facing charges relating to evading police, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of stolen property over $5,000, as well as failure to comply with court-ordered conditions. The female passenger is not facing any charges.
