Wadena RCMP seize drugs and weapons following traffic stop

Ashley Smoke is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Police seized 225 grams of methamphetamine, an unknown amount of pharmaceutical style pills, a hunting-style knife, and drug paraphernalia.

WADENA – Ashley Smoke, 27, from Fishing Lake First Nation has been remanded in custody until his next appearance in Wynyard court on March 28.

Smoke is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Smoke was arrested by Wadena RCMP when they were doing proactive patrols and did a traffic stop on Fishing Lake First Nation on March 20. He didn’t have a driver’s license and was arrested at the scene.

When police searched him, they found 225 grams of methamphetamine, an unknown amount of pharmaceutical style pills, a hunting-style knife, and drug paraphernalia.
