SASKATOON – A vehicle allegedly followed another vehicle early Monday morning in the area of Circle Drive and Idylwyld Drive hollered at him telling him to pull over, and pointed a sawed-off shotgun at the driver,

Saskatoon police say that patrol officers were called at about 1 a.m. on July 10 to a hotel in the 800 block of Idylwyld Drive North.

When police arrived, they saw a truck parked at the entrance. No one was inside and the doors were left open.

The complainant told police that he or the other occupants of his vehicle didn’t know the suspects who were hollering to pull over and that the truck he was driving was stolen. When he refused to pull over he said a passenger in the vehicle following him pointed a sawed-off shotgun at him.

Police found the suspect vehicle in a parking lot of a bar in the 2200 block of 22nd Street West. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted and four people were arrested, with two later being released. Inside the vehicle, a partially-disassembled shotgun was located along with numerous rounds of ammunition. A pickaxe was also located inside of a backpack in the vehicle.

Two men, ages 29 and 26, are facing a combined 14 firearms/weapons-related offences. They are also each charged with assault with a weapon.
