SASKATOON – Three people were arrested Thursday night following a firearms incident.
At approximately 12:30 a.m., May 26, patrol officers responded to the 1000 block of 8th Street East for a weapons complaint. The complainant said that, while driving, people in a black Volkswagon Atlas pointed a sawed-off shotgun and another gun out the window at them. Police located the vehicle in the 100 block of Avenue P Â鶹´«Ã½AV and observed two people walking away from it. They were taken into custody without incident, along with the driver of the vehicle who was still inside.
Once a search of the vehicle was conducted, officers located a loaded, sawed-off shotgun and ammunition in a back pack. A man was found to be concealing a large knife, bear spray and a loaded homemade handgun on his person. A woman was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl and various drug paraphernalia. All three were taken to SPS Detention.
A 22-year-old man is charged with 13 firearms/weapons-related offences and breach of probation. He was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
A 30-year-old man is facing eight firearms-related offences.
A 31-year-old woman is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
