Single vehicle collision claims life

Driver was in medical distress during moments leading up to crash.

REGINA – A 59 year-old man is dead after the vehicle he was operating struck a tree.

Police initially received a call around 11:20 a.m. of a driver being in medical distress in the 1200 block of Albert Street near the Hwy 11 entrance.

"Shortly after, police were also notified by a driver that came across the incident that a vehicle had left the road and struck a tree," said RPS in a media release.

EMS on-scene pronounced the man deceased and next of kin were notified. Investigation into the collision continues, but police have ruled out the cause as being criminal in nature.
