Police search for evidence in Saskatoon's 10th homicide of 2024

SASKATOON —  Police are looking for a knife as part of their investigation into Saskatoon’s 10th homicide of 2024.

Investigators with the Major Crime Section are requesting public assistance from anyone living or working in the area within the perimeter of 22nd Street West, 18th Street West, Avenue H Â鶹´«Ã½AV, and Avenue J Â鶹´«Ã½AV. Residents and business owners within this area are asked to thoroughly inspect their property for a knife that is believed to have been discarded following the homicide.

Anyone with information relating to the homicide or who believes they have located the knife investigators are looking for is asked to contact police directly at 306-975-8300 or submit an anonymous tip to  at 1-800-222-8477.

Two men, both age 29, have been charged in relation to the homicide. One of the men is charged with second-degree murder and the other has been charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

At around 3 a.m. on June 3, police responded to the 800 block of 22nd Street West for a report of an injured person. Officers arrived to find the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries; he was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Following an autopsy, 29-year-old Glen Lennie was confirmed to be the victim of homicide.
