REGINA – A 16 year-old boy is facing multiple charges after a hit and run at a home in the 5000 block of 10th Avenue.
Just after 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 9, police responded to a call of someone smashing into a residence with a vehicle and running away.
"Officers arrived on scene to discover that, in addition to the building, a natural gas line was hit and ruptured and a light standard had also been hit," said RPS in a media release.
Police were able to locate the teen and arrest him without incident.
"Officers conducted a brief search of the area and located the suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated," RPS said.
The youth - who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act - is charged with impaired operation of a vehicle, having a blood/alcohol level over 0.08 mg within two hours of operating a vehicle, failure to stop after an accident, failure to comply with conditions, and theft of a vehicle.
The accused made his first court appearance in Regina Provincial Youth Court this morning.
