Regina teen charged after pulling knife in school fight

Accused to make first court appearance in November.

REGINA – A 15-year-old boy will be heading go court after pulling a knife after a fight outside a local school.

Police say the incident happened just after 1 p.m. on Sept. 11 when a School Resource Officer was called to the front doors of the school in the 200 block of Argyle Street, where "multiple students" were in an altercation.

"The officer was able to stop the initial altercation but following that, one of the students, who was being guided away from the area by a staff member, pulled out a bladed weapon," said RPS in a media release. "The SRO was able to quickly gain control of the weapon and take the student safely into custody. No one was physically injured."

The teen - who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act - has been charged with possession of a weapon. He's scheduled to make a first appearance in Regina Provincial Youth Court on Nov. 2.
