Pedestrian robbed and assaulted on Saskatoon bridge

A 48-year-old male was found suffering from several non-life threatening injuries

SASKATOON — An 18-year-old man was scheduled to appear in court Tuesday following a robbery and assault on the Sid Buckwold Bridge over the weekend.

According to Saskatoon Police Service, officers were called to the west end of the Sid Buckwold Bridge at approximately 7:10 p.m., May 19. Witnesses reported seeing a male pedestrian being assaulted and robbed of his bag. 

A 48-year-old male was found suffering from several non-life threatening injuries. He was seen by Medavie Health Services at the scene.  

A male, matching the description of the suspect was located in the area a short time later. He was taken into custody and is facing charges of robbery and breach of undertaking.
