No injuries after Regina man pulls knife in store

Incident occurred after security staff approached, say police.

REGINA – A 28-year-old Regina man is facing multiple charges after allegedly pulling a knife on security staff in Harbour Landing.

Police were called to a business in the 4500 block of Gordon Road just before 8 p.m. pn April 3 for a weapons offence.

"Early information provided to police suggested a male had stolen items from the business, and when he was approached by two security staff, the male pulled out a bladed weapon," said RPS in a media release. "Nobody was physically injured in the incident."

The Aerial Support Unit found the suspect, and patrol officers soon arrested the man, recovering a bladed weapon in the process.

Wesley Cassidy Poorman was charged with two counts assault with a weapon; and single counts theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with a probation order.

He made a first appearance on these charges in Provincial Court on April 4.
