BUFFALO NARROWS — A woman and three men were arrested after RCMP received a report of an armed individual at a home in Buffalo Narrows at about 6:30 p.m. on April 21.
Buffalo Narrows RCMP responded immediately and contained the scene. Buffalo Narrows RCMP made attempts to have the suspects vacate the residence. Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team was engaged to assist.
During the investigation, officers located and seized two rifles, two sawed-off shotguns, ammunition, knives, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and multiple cans of bear spray with defaced labels inside the residence.
Johnny Thompson, 21, from Buffalo Narrows was charged with five counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order, two counts of possession of a restricted firearm/prohibited weapon with ammunition without license/registration, possession of a weapon obtained by crime, three counts of careless use of a firearm, four counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited firearm, restrict/obstruct peace officer, and pointing a firearm.
The other three individuals arrested at the scene were later released without charge.
La Loche RCMP, Turnor Lake RCMP, Dillon RCMP, Meadow Lake Police Dog Services, Saskatchewan RCMP’s General Investigation Section (GIS), and National Weapons Enforcement Support Team (NWEST) assisted in this investigation.
Thompson appeared in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on April 24.
