KAMSACK – After a public call to help locate a dangerous person, police arrested a man from Keeseekoose First Nation suspected of killing a teenager.
“Edgar Kakakaway Jr. is wanted by police for his involvement in the murder of a 16 year-old man from Cote First Nation on Keeseekoose First Nation during the early morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 19,” RCMP said in a media release that went out the following day, adding that a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
Police arrested Kakakaway, 19, without incident on Nov. 23 on Keeseekoose First Nation, and he has been charged with second degree murder, assault causing bodily harm, and failure to comply with a condition of a release order.
He made a first appearance in provincial court on Nov. 24, and will appear again on Dec. 6.
