MEADOW LAKE – A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support the family of Adyson King, a young hockey player from Flying Dust First Nation, who was found deceased on April 16.

Organized by the Waterhen Women’s Hockey Team on behalf of Adyson’s mother, Darcie King, the fundraiser aims to help cover memorial expenses. As of Friday afternoon, the campaign had raised $10,280 of its $15,000 goal through 96 donations.

“Adyson was not only our teammate but a part of our extended family,” the team said in a statement on the GoFundMe page. “Her loss has affected us all deeply.”

The team is encouraging both financial contributions and the sharing of the campaign, emphasizing that no gesture is too small.

Funds raised will go directly to Darcie King. Organizers also noted that GoFundMe campaigns in Canada do not take a percentage of the donations received.

Supporters can visit the fundraising page at to donate or share the campaign.
