SASKATOON – A 65-year-old Prince Albert man has been charged with 11 counts of assault with a weapon in assaults that occurred decades ago.

Saskatoon Police Service says that several reports were made to police in 2021 and 2022 alleging assaults had occurred historically. Police didn’t say what year they occurred. They say the victims and accused were known to one another through their affiliation with a Saskatoon faith-based institution.

As a result of investigation by members of the Saskatoon Police Service Interpersonal Violence Section, the man turned himself in to the SPS on June 15, and is expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court Thursday afternoon.
