LLOYDMINSTER – A 25-year-old man who was at the center of a standoff with police last month, has failed to appear in court and is wanted, again. At the time of his arrest on Nov. 15, Michael Patrick Hill was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.
He had barricaded himself inside a residence prompting the deployment of four RCMP units. Officers surrounded the Lloydminster, Sask., home in the 4300 block of 32 Street after they saw Hill enter.
Lloydminster RCMP GIS members, Lloydminster Police Dog Services, Lloydminster RCMP, and Kitscoty RCMP evacuated several nearby homes because they believed Hill may have had a firearm.
Several people exited the home but Hill refused.
Hours later, he exited and was arrested.
During a search of Hill, Lloydminster RCMP GIS found more than an ounce of cocaine and an ounce of methamphetamine. He was charged with drug trafficking.
Hill appeared before a Justice of the Peace for a judicial interim release hearing and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance in Lloydminster, Sask., Provincial Court Nov. 21.
He was released and was scheduled to appear in Lloydminster court again on Dec. 11 but failed to appear.
A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.
