Man accused of sexually assaulting 9-year-old girl appears in court

A 34-year-old Saskatoon man appeared in Saskatoon court Friday and the matter was adjourned to June 21 for a show cause hearing. 

SASKATOON – A 34-year-old Saskatoon man is accused of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl. He appeared in Saskatoon court Friday and the matter was adjourned to June 21 for a show cause hearing. 

Members of the Saskatoon Police Service Interpersonal Violence Section and Technological Crime Unit, with support from the Internet Child Exploitation Unit, have charged him with multiple sexual assault and child pornography offences.

On May 25, the Saskatoon Police Service received a report of child sexual abuse occurring between August of 2022 and February of 2023. The victim and the accused are known to one another.

Continued investigation led to the execution of two search warrants on June 8 at addresses in the 3300 block of John A. MacDonald Road and 3300 block of Centennial Drive where several electronic devices were seized.

As a result, the Saskatoon man has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, making child pornography, and possession of child pornography.
