SASKATOON – A jury trial will be held for two women charged with second-degree murder in the death of a 52-year-old man in November 2021.

Kathleen Papequash and Jade Gardipy-Bear will be tried together in Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench starting March 18, 2024.

A preliminary hearing for the two was held earlier this year in Saskatoon Provincial Court and the judge ruled there was enough evidence for them to stand trial. There is a publication ban on the evidence presented at their hearing.

According to Saskatoon police, Papequash was known to the 52-year-old victim. John Kitchemonia was the city’s seventh homicide victim of 2021.
