ICE Unit charge Regina man on child porn offences

Suspect released with next court date in June, police say.

REGINA – A Regina man has been charged with possession of child pornography offences.

Earlier this year, the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit launched an investigation, resulting in the execution of a search warrant on Feb. 22 at a home in the Queen City.

Police seized electronic devices and charged a 44-year-old man with possession of child pornography, making available child pornography, and making an arrangement to commit a sexual offence against a child.

"He was released from custody on numerous conditions until his next court appearance on June 7 at Regina Provincial Court," said the Saskatoon Police Service in a media release.

The Saskatchewan ICE Unit is comprised of investigators from the Saskatchewan RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service. Their mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse and/or exploitation of children on the internet.
