SASKATOON - Update 2: Traffic restrictions surrounding the fatal collision on College Drive and Wiggins Avenue have now been lifted.
Saskatoon Police Service would like to thank the public for your patience during the restrictions.
Update: Saskatoon police are investigating a fatal collision involving a cyclist and a cement truck Wednesday afternoon.
At approximately 4 p.m. police responded to the intersection of College Drive and Wiggins Avenue after getting a report that a concrete truck struck a cyclist. The 33-year-old woman cyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The collision analyst unit is on scene investigation.
Traffic restrictions include:
- Eastbound traffic on University Bridge is being diverted southbound onto Clarence Avenue.
- Barricades are erected at Preston Avenue preventing motorists from turning westbound onto College Drive.
- Access to College Drive from University Drive, Munroe Avenue, Wiggins Avenue/Road, Bottomley Avenue, and Cumberland Avenue is restricted.
Restrictions are expected to be in place for several hours as CAU remains on scene. An update will be sent when restrictions are lifted.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to find alternative travel routes.

Traffic restrictions are in place, with eastbound traffic on University Bridge being diverted southbound onto Clarence Avenue. Barricades are also being erected at Preston Avenue. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
The SPS Collision Analyst Unit is responding. Police say more information will be released when available.
