Cold case: Maurice Arriagada's murder remains unsolved

Maurcio [Maurice] Arriagada's body was found in a house July 5, 2019, in Saskatoon’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood.

SASKATOON – Maurcio [Maurice]  Arriagada was murdered July 5, 2019, in Saskatoon’s Pleasant Hill neighbourhood and his homicide remains unsolved. Arriagada, 45, was the city’s seventh homicide victim in 2019.

Saskatoon Police say that he was stabbed to death in a house in the 300 block of Ave. T Â鶹´«Ã½AV. He was taken to hospital and succumbed to his injuries.

In 2019, his sister told CBC that Arriagada had lost touch with his siblings after he had moved to Saskatoon decades prior and became involved with street gangs. She said he had tried leaving the gang in the past but it was difficult for him to break away.

Arriagada’s social media depicts group photos of himself and other Terror Squad gang members wearing black. In July 2019, CBC said that the house Arriagada lived in was a known gang house and had “Terror Squad” spray-painted on it.

Arriagada was a father of five. On his social media he says he is from Lloydminster. 

The investigation into Arriagada's historical homicide remains open. No suspects have been arrested but investigators believe members of the public may have information helpful in solving the case.
