BLACK LAKE – Police have arrested a man wanted for pointing a firearm at a person outside of a business on July 24 before fleeing on an ATV.
When Black Lake RCMP got a call about a man with a firearm, they responded right away and started searching for the suspect, 28-year-old Jake Toutsaint. Police say he drove up to the officers several times on the ATV but fled when he was told he was under arrest.
A week later, Toutsaint was arrested without incident in Black Lake on Aug. 1.
Toutsaint is charged with pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm, three counts of having a firearm/ammunition contrary to a court order, flight from police, resisting arrest, dangerous driving, failing to comply with a recognizance, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
Toutsaint was also wanted by Black Lake RCMP on a warrant for assault causing bodily harm and failure to comply with probation in relation to a May 2023 incident in Black Lake.
He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court by telephone on Aug. 3.
