OUTLOOK - A local store from the riverside community has donated to the drive to get a new fire hall paid in full for local firefighters.

AG Foods in Outlook held a Fire Up the Foodbank fundraiser which encouraged the public to buy food bags in order to support the Outlook & District Food Bank. In addition, the sales of the 500 food bags, which was the store's targeted goal of selling, would benefit the initiative to pay for the new Outlook fire hall.

By the end of the day on December 7, the store had come just shy of selling 500 bags, but that didn't deter store runners Blake and Hannah Taylor from moving forward with the donation as they recently presented fire hall fundraising committee chair Bree Campbell with a cheque for $5,000 and also delivered $5,000 worth of food products to the food bank.

As well, local resident Gail Korpi won a 60-second shopping spree from the food bank blitz, and she managed to walk away with just over $400 worth of free groceries.

The store thanks everyone who contributed and supported the cause, which will make a big impact as Outlook continues to move forward on raising funds for the new fire hall.
