Outlook school drama club premieres Christmas comedy

Kids entertained the audience with a holiday laugh fest.

OUTLOOK - The Outlook High School Drama Club brought some comedy to everyone's Christmas festivities last week, featuring a handful of talented kids putting on an entertaining show, coupled with some holiday music.

On Wednesday, December 4 in the gymnasium of Outlook High School, students who are involved in the drama club presented the Christmas comedy, 'Head Elf', a short play written by A.M. Dittman, as well as a performance from the OHS Christmas Choir.

A silver collection was taken at the door and the evening began with refreshments before the choir took to the stage, performing a trio of holiday favorites before the curtain rose on the play. Choir members included Jaeda Baluyut, Nora Johnson, Fayden Brecht, Sawyer Ellis, Carmen Curtis, Nika Keshman, Nargis Kazemi, Keira Shetterley, Kallie Hein, Joel Davey, Tanya Ellis, Jessica Ganzert, and Robert LeBlanc.

In the show, when Santa's head elf is unexpectedly fired, a desperate search is conducted for a replacement. From Rudolph's bodyguard to a Grinch to the Tooth Fairy, the interviews prove to be difficult and not without their own comedic results.

Playing head elf Buckles was Jossalyn Ziegler, who carried the brunt of the show's momentum with an innocent, straight-laced performance. Helping her out were a cavalcade of performers who stood out in their own right with their performances that proved to be a hit with the vocal audience, including Ray Sarvis (Santa/Nickles), Jordyn Sarvis (Henrietta), Ella Thiessen (Mel), Hudson Duchesne (Bodyguard 1/Andy/Goran), Jordyn Armstrong (Rudolph/Mrs. Claus), Karmen Larsen (Rudolph's assistant), Brooklyn Klop (Bodyguard 2/Easter Bunny/Tooth Fairy), Isabella Stadler (Nutcracker/Candolf), and Becky Klop (Chilly/Polar Bear).

The show proved to be a hit with the audience and showed that a number of the kids on the stage have some serious chops if acting and performing is what they want to do in the future.
