OUTLOOK - The LCBI Lady Bisons are now Conference Champions after hosting a tournament on Saturday, March 11, ensuring a spot at this weekend's regional action before the provincial HOOPLA event looms at the end of the month.

Welcoming teams from Wilkie, Herbert and Eatonia, the Bisons started their weekend off right by swiftly defeating Eatonia on Saturday afternoon at a score of 98-48. This win moved them on to the final, where they were matched against the Wilkie Broncs.

To say that this game was a nail-biter would be underselling it, as both rosters fought tooth and nail for dominance on the court and the scoreboard reflected it, with both teams matched point for point. Digging deep, the Lady Bisons persevered and found that little extra something to come ahead, maintaining a razor-thin lead until the final seconds dropped off the clock. When it was all over, LCBI was victorious at an incredible score of 60-59.

Meanwhile, the LCBI boys team was in Herbert competing in the 2A Boys Conference tournament. Though they put up a notable effort, they were defeated by the roster from Davidson at a score of 67-51, and Davidson then went on to win the tournament by defeating the hometown Herbert team at 81-51.

Attention now turns to Regionals, which will determine who heads off to the HOOPLA provincial championship event in Prince Albert.

The LCBI Lady Bisons will host 2A Girls action this coming Friday and Saturday, welcoming teams from Rosthern, St. Brieux and Asquith. LCBI plays their first game on Friday at 6:00 against Rosthern.

As well, the LCBI Bisons venture to Legacy Christian Academy in Saskatoon to play in 2A Boys Regionals, with their first game on Friday against the hosting school at 6:00.
