Thirteen athletes from the KEES Yorkton Taekwondo club participated Saturday, June 12 at the first Annual Iron Fist Taekwondo Club Challenge in Winnipeg. The event was hosted by Iron Fist Taekwondo.

The Yorkton Cardinals are coming off an impressive triumph over the division's first place club in Regina, a 12-4 win (See Page C1 for details).

The Yorkton Cardinals have been struggling in the Western Major Baseball League, going only three-and-seven over their last 10-games. The Cardinals are left with an overall record of 5-10, and a spot in the basement of the WMBL East Division.

Deer Park Golf Course in Yorkton was the site of the 5th Annual Dollars for Scholars golf tournament, a fundraiser used to support students attending Parkland College on Scholarships.

The competitive volleyball season typically ends with the provincial tournament, but some teams take their season a step further to the national level.

The Parkland Racing Association is holding a race day July 10 at 5 p.m. at the Yellowhead International Speedway.

The Alexander's Yorkton Junior Cardinals are coming off a home win Saturday against the Swan River Reds and will play the Canora Supers in a Wednesday night doubleheader today (June 30) at Jubilee Park. Action gets started at 6:15 p.m. on diamond 1.

The Yorkton E & S Yankees beat the previously undefeated Yorkton Alexander's Jr. Cardinals 7-6 in 麻豆传媒AV East Senior Baseball League (SESBL) action. Darren Wandy earned the complete game win with Matt Totte taking the loss for the Junior Cardinals.

Al Cote and Matthew Procyshen both had a pretty good day on the golf course last weekend as the 10th Annual Cam Hodgson Memorial Golf Classic took over the York Lake Golf Course for two days.
