Two members of the Yorkton Terriers earned Player of the Month honours for November in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Veteran Devin Peters earned Goaltender of the Month, and defenceman Davis Vandane has been awarded Rookie of the Month.

The winners of the LDM Atom Tier II tournament were as follows. The 'A' Division winners were Brandon 9A Wheat Kings. They defeated the Yorkton Kawchuk Construction Terriers 10-2 in the A division final. The 'B' Division winners were Wynyard.

The Junior 'A' Yorkton Terriers put forth a good showing at the league's showcase tournament in Weyburn. They returned to home ice on Dec. 15 to take on Melfort.

The Rhythmics gymnastics group held their annual Christmas show last Thursday at the Gloria Hayden Community Centre. Fifteen kids ages 5-12 put on a show that they've been working on for a month and a half says coach Carol Antony.

Robert Okeny and Trent Senger of Sacred Heart were the recipients of football awards handed out over the weekend, in recognition of their record-breaking season.

Basketball

The Colonel Raider basketball tournament is scheduled for this weekend to be held at the Yorkton Regional High School located on Gladstone Avenue. The games will involved senior and junior clubs from both Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Finals don't live up to Grey Cup expectations

The 98th Grey Cup Championship did not live up to expectations at least not from a scoring point of view. Although games are never over until they are over, this one didn't compare to other regular season games played between the two teams.
