The Red River Cup in Winnipeg wrapped up Wednesday with the two teams from Saskatchewan missing the gold medal game.

The Cardinals woes continued Thursday night, although it appeared to be going more Yorkton鈥檚 way earlier in the day with a 6-5 win. By the evening, however, the Millionaires were out for blood on their home turf.

For the most part I avoid watching all-star games. They have no meaning in terms of standings, are always populated with players that seem questionable based on current stats, and are played without the emotion that fires good sports entertainment.

The third time was the charm for the Yorkton Wildlife Federation Trap and Skeet Club鈥檚 Sun鈥檚 Out Gun鈥檚 Out event.

A four-person team of Brent and Kathy Weber and Mike and Joanne Osatiuk of Madge Lake won the Duck Mountain Ski Hill鈥檚 15 th annual Ski Hill Scramble golf tournament held at the Madge Lake Golf Course on June 16.

The Yorkton Cardinals offence just couldn鈥檛 get going tonight (Tuesday). The Cardinals were held to one hit, and no runs at Jubilee Park, while the visiting Swift Current 57s posted nine hits and 10-runs.

July 14 was the race weekend that the one race fans have been waiting for, and the stock cars at the Yellowhead International Speedway didn鈥檛 disappoint. Crowds were able to enjoy a wide range of racers in four classes over the day.
