The Yorkton Lady Gridders wrapped up their fall season in Regina in what can only be described as an old-fashioned barn burner. 鈥淚t was a wild game,鈥� said Yorkton coach Tyrell MacLean. 鈥淲e trailed all game.

The Yorkton Secon Maulers can鈥檛 catch a break. The SMAAAHL team went on a road trip over the weekend, but the trip didn鈥檛 result in any wins. The first game saw them meet the Notre Dame Argos. It was a close match after the first.

The Yorkton Regional High School Raider Gridders like being the bad guys. At least that is the view of their coacj Jason Boyda who said the team relishes the role in a game like the one they played Friday.

Tarrington Wyonzek, grandson of Henry and Anne Wyonzek of Canora and Victor and Vickie Puchala of Yorkton (formerly of Rhein), and son of Pat and Karen Wyonzek, has made another important move toward his goal of being an NHL on-ice official.

The Yorkton Terriers met their Highway 10 rivals the Melville Millionaires at the Farrell Agencies arena on Oct. 5. The contest saw the Yorkton team rise to the occasion.

It appears the only thing that can stop the YRHS Jr. Raider Gridders from winning is running out of games to play. The eight game regular season is over, and the team has won every one.

As hinted at last week in this space, it is time to wrap up the Toronto Blue Jays season. Overall, the season unfolded, at least in terms of wins and losses, as was expected. The team flirted with 100 loses, ending up with 95, against 67 wins.

Trae Peterson of Sturgis, is only 10 years old but his passion for the sport of hockey has led to many great things for the youth.

The Yorkton Secon Maulers have had a tough season so far, and that streak continued into their game on Wednesday night, taking on the Regina Pat Canadians.

Hockey players of all ages will be benefit from the Adam Herold Legacy hockey and leadership development camp. The Preeceville Minor Hockey Association will host the hockey school from November 30 to December 1 and January 4 and 5.
