It appears over the next few weeks I may just have to leave a big blank space when it comes to sports since almost every league in North America and beyond are on shutdowns because of the potential of games to be the site of transmission for COVID-19

The Yorkton Curling Club has made donations to three local groups as a way of saying thank you. The curling club wanted to give back to the community because of the great volunteer support it received during the recent 2020 Meridian Canadian Open.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League is not following in the footsteps of the National Hockey League when it comes to COVID-19. 鈥淭he [SJHL] will currently continue its season as planned,鈥� said a statement for the league.

Summer came early, at least in the world of sports, as the best athletes in the sport of volleyball in Saskatchewan descended upon both the Gallagher Centre as well as St. Michael鈥檚 school this weekend.

And now it鈥檚 a best-of-three series for the Yorkton Hyundai Terriers and La Ronge Ice Wolves. The teams split the opening two games in Yorkton, and have now done the same in games three and four in La Ronge.
