Two professional wrestlers that had once called Yorkton their home returned to the city last Wednesday, April 22, with the hopes of picking up big W’s over a pair of talented wrestlers.
But despite great efforts in front over 250 rabid Yorkton fans, both Bull Bodnar and Robbie Gamble came up short, falling to Mr. Inkredible and ROH tag team champion ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels in separate matches.
Other results saw ‘A-List’ Anderson Tyson Moore knock off North Battleford’s Brett Morgan despite some mild interference by Travis Cole in the opening contest of the event.
‘The Rebel’ Bobby Collins, more than twice the age of his opponent, used all of his veteran cunning and intelligence, as well as interference from Kevin Cannon, to defeat the high energy Alexander Prime in the second match of the evening.
The third match of the night saw Mr. Inkredible overpower Bull Bodnar for the victory.
A bloodied former CWE champion, ‘Hotshot’ Danny Duggan, outlasted a very game ‘Hot Prospect’ Travis Cole to pick up yet another win in the final match before intermission.
Fans in attendance returned from intermission and were instantly rewarded with a match of the night candidate as the team of ‘The Crown Jewel’ Chase Owens and Jason ‘The Gift’ Kincaid topped Shane Sabre and Carter Mason after nearly 20 minutes of nonstop action.
The main event of the night saw Yorkton’s Robbie Gamble go all-in against one of the world’s best ring generals, current Ring of Honor (ROH) tag team champion ‘The Fallen Angel’ Christopher Daniels.
Gamble had the upper hand early in the match however Daniels, a 22 year veteran of the squared circle, slowly battled back before hitting the Best Moonsault Ever to pick up the victory in the final match of the night.
CWE will be back in Yorkton Wednesday, June 24. Headlining that event will be three time WWE tag team champion ‘The Darewolf’ Justin Gabriel.
