With football season well under way, the Yorkton Minor Football teams have working hard in the Regina Minor Football league.

The Mighty Mites have been busy learning the basics of the game and getting a feel of being on the field and competing against other teams without keeping score.

The Yorkton Pee Wee Gridders have played seven games so far. Their record is 2-5. Over the weekend, the Argos visited Century Field in Yorkton and the Pee Wee Gridders were victorious after a close 14-13 game. Their previous win was on Sept. 9 after a huge 52-8 game against the Rams.

The Yorkton Atom Gridders have played six games at time of print, and hold a 3-3 record. This past weekend, they hosted the Lions and lost 19-15 despite a strong effort on the field.

Yorkton’s Bantam Gridders are 5-2 at this point in their season. On Saturday they faced the Regina Sun Devils and lost 41-16 on their home turf.

The remainder of the regular season will play out in Regina for all teams, as will the playoffs. Playoff action will start on October 10.
