On Saturday, November 12, the Yorkton Martial Arts Training Centre (YMATC) hosted a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu seminar. Two black belts from Regina, above, (pictured kneeling: Chris Desautels on left and Joe Bossenberry) spent three hours with students from Yorkton and Melville. Everyone learned a lot and were very impressed with the wealth of knowledge passed along. Pictured below, on Saturday, November 25, 2011 14 students from the YMATC took part in the 6th annual Young Tigers open martial arts tournament and provincial championships. The group brought home an impressive number of gold, silver and bronze awards. Adam Rusnak was crowned 2011 provincial champion for point sparring in his category. Mason Devos-Payne took double gold and has been invited on to Team Canada competing in Villars, Switzerland at the end of August 2012. Watch for more YMATC athletes and their fundraising events to help send them to Europe.
