The Yorkton E & S Yankees travelled to Canora for a tilt with the Supers on May 26. The game saw returning veterans Roby Sharp and Jason Trost in the Yankees line-up, but couldn't help overcome a 5-4 loss, says Yankee manager Wade Karcha.

It was also a homecoming of sorts for Jeff Bahrey and Tom Cook, both former Supers, who now dress for the Yankees.

The Supers scored one run in the second inning but the Yankees tied the game in the top of the fourth inning when Jeremy Johnson was driven home on an Evan Wasylyniuk double. The Yankees did not fare as well in the bottom of the fourth allowing Canora to score four runs and take a lead of 5-1.

Yorkton's Johnson pitched the final two innings striking out three while giving up only one walk and no hits. The Yankees did mount some comeback attempts in the sixth and seventh innings; they tallied once in the sixth and two in the seventh. However, they fell short by one run as Canora took the game by a 5-4 final.

Yankee runs were scored by Cook, who chipped in with two, while teammates Bahrey and Johnson had one each. Johnson also added one RBI and two hits while Cook and Sharp had one RBI and one hit each. Completing the Yankees hits were Trost and Bahrey with one single each.
