Willowbrook Wildlife Federation hosts 3D shoot

Over the weekend, the Willowbrook Wildlife Federation held its annual 3D Archery Shoot.

Over the weekend, the Willowbrook Wildlife Federation held its  annual 3D Archery Shoot. Last year, the Willowbrook Wildlife club had a membership of 608 members, and while some of those members took part in the weekend’s event, the family-friendly event also saw participants from various parts of the province including Regina, Estevan and Weyburn, as well as locals from the Parkland and surrounding areas.

Two courses were spread out across a large patch of land, and 3D animal targets were set up to challenge the archery participants. Each course had 20 targets of all different classes.

Danny Mikkonen, past president of Willowbrook Wildlife Federation and organizer of the 3D archery shoot, said they were happy with the turn out this year. They estimated between 60-70 participants on the first day.

He explained that they had shooters of all levels, including some who use the course as a method of practice before heading on to other competitions.

This event, like all others that the Willowbrook Wildlife Federation hosts throughout the year, raises money for fisheries, habitat and youth education.
