Four road games netted the Yorkton Terriers only one point in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action in the last week.

Four road games netted the Yorkton Terriers only one point in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League action in the last week.

The one point raised Yorkton's season total to 17 based on a record of 7-10-1-2 and second place in the Sherwood Conference, four-points back of front-running Melville with 21.

Weyburn sits third with 15 points and Estevan fourth with 13.

Saturday in Kindersley Branden Scheidl gave the Klippers a 1-0 lead 3:10 into the game, before Brandon Sookro tied the game at 5:05.

The 1-1 tie would hold into the second period when Graham Lanigan and Owen LaClare struck at 3:35 and 5:08 to give the hosts a 3-1 lead.

Sookro would get one of those back with a Terrier powerplay goal at 11:18, before Shaun MacPherson Landon Gross and Cody Young added three more for the Klippers in a less than four-minute span to make it 6-2 after 40-minutes.

Kindersley's fifth goal saw Terrier starting goaltender Dawson MacAuley pulled after facing 18-shots in favour of Matt Kustra.

In the third Devin Case and LaClare added two more for the Klippers.

Kustra would face 18-shots for his part in the loss.

Evan Weninger faced 40 Terrier shots for the win.

It was a closer one in North Battleford Friday as the Terriers visited the North Stars.

Reed Delainey scored a short-handed goal for the host team 11:08 into the opening period, but Riley Hunt found the equalizer in the last minute of the first.

The contest would remain tied 1-1 until midway through the third when Otto Mitchell would score what would be the game winner for the Stars in a 2-1 decision.

Matt Kustra was in the net for Yorkton facing 31-shots in the loss, while Ryan Rewerts had the win for Battlefords, facing 25.

Thursday in Kindersley it was a scoreless first and third, while in the second the teams traded markers with Kolby Johnson giving the Klippers a lead and Daylan Gatzke knotting the game 1-1.

Off to overtime, the five-minute, four-on-four proved nothing, pushing the game to the shoot-out, where it took eight shooters before the home team managed a win.

MacAuley saw 30-shots in the Terrier net in the loss, while Evan Weninger faced 41 in the win.

Tuesday loss

Last Tuesday the Terriers headed to Weyburn to face the Red Wings.

Brandon Sookro, coming off a recent hat trick performance against La Ronge Halloween night, started things off against the Wings with a powerplay marker 14:15 into the contest.

Aidan Tielborg responded with a Wings equalizer at 18:22 sending the teams to the dressing room deadlocked 1-1 after 20-minutes.

Kurt Johnas would score a pair of second period goals for the Terriers, including a powerplay effort, but Tucker Neuberger had a man advantage goal for Weyburn to go with an even strength effort by Josh Lees to again send the teams to the dressing room tied.

In the third Ian Parker had the lone goal to give Weyburn a 4-3 win.

MacAuley faced 26-shots in the loss for Yorkton, while Nick Malvin saw 21 in the Weyburn win.
