It was another tough week of hockey for the Yorkton Terriers.聽

Their last two games have resulted in two losses for the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League team.聽

Last Tuesday, they hosted the Estevan Bruins at the Farrell Agencies Arena. Although it was a close and well-fought game, some tough calls on the ice resulted in a 4-3 loss for the Terriers.聽

Yorkton started the scoring early in the first with a goal from William Brochu, but Estevan would respond just a few minutes later, and would add another before the period ended to make it 2-1 at the end of the first.

In the second period, Estevan pushed their lead to 3-1. The Terriers鈥 Cody Bruchkowski would then respond, pushing the score to 3-2 to end the second.聽

It was a close game going into the third, but a series of penalties would eventually put the Terriers in a five-on-three penalty kill, which the Bruins took advantage of and pushed the score to 4-2.聽

Bruchkowski scored again with about one minute of play remaining, but it wouldn鈥檛 be enough to overpower the strong Bruins. The score would remain 4-3.聽

After the game, Terriers鈥 head coach/GM Casey O鈥橞rien said he did not want to comment on the difficult penalties his team took in the third period.聽

鈥淚t was a really good game,鈥 he offered. 鈥淕uys played hard, the penalty kill was good. We weren鈥檛 able to draw many power plays tonight, but Logan Bateman gave us a chance.鈥

Bateman played in goal for the Terries and made 41 saves.

鈥淲e scored some timely goals,鈥 O鈥橞rien continued. 鈥淐ody Bruchkowski is starting to really step up for us.鈥

On Friday, the Terriers headed to Nipawin to face the Hawks for the first time of the 2017-2018 season.聽

Unfortunately for the Terriers, the Hawks dominated the play at their home rink and took the win 5-0.聽

The Terriers were seeking revenge on Tuesday night when they hosted the Hawks in Yorkton. The results were not available at the time of print.聽

The Terriers will be on the road for the next few weeks, with games away from the FAA. They鈥檒l return to their home rink on Saturday, Nov. 11 when they face off against the Humboldt Broncos at 7:30 p.m.
