The students of Kees Taekwondo and the Yorkton Taekwondo Association held a Break-A-Thon fundraiser. The students canvassed and received donor pledges in order to raise funds that go directly to a Ugandan Orphanage project. Kelsey Moore, who got her Kees Taekwondo black belt, is volunteering for mission work at the orphanage in Uganda. The funds raised will have a bigger impact on account they will go directly to the project. The club decided to demonstrate how they are part of a bigger community and that they can have a positive impact on people half way around the world. The actual breaking took place on Saturday, December 7th between 10 a.m. and noon. The action was fast and furious with a great amount of enthusiasm displayed. The students raised over $1000.00.
