Jarret Stoll is on his way to New York City.
On Monday, the National Hockey League’s New York Rangers announced it had signed the former Yorkton Terriers star to a one-year deal worth $800,000 US.
For the past seven seasons the Melville product has played in Los Angeles where he won two Stanley Cup championships.
As the third line centre for the Kings last year, Stoll scored six goals, had 11 assists and earned $3.25 million.
Prior to signing with the Rangers, Stoll was last in the news for being arrested at a hotel in Las Vegas for possession of cocaine and ecstasy. In July, he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor possession charges and one count of trespassing. A Clark County judge sentenced Stoll to 32 hours of community service.
