The Yorkton Harvest Midget AAA hockey club plays tonight at the Farrell Agencies Arena at 7:30 p.m., against the Regina Pat Canadians.

The YRHS senior boys volleyball team qualified for the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletics Association 5A boys provincials. YRHS finished first in the southern regionals last weekend and now await the tournament draw for provincials in Prince Albert.

The Yorkton Elementary Schools Sports Association (YESSA) is holding their end-of-the-season boys and girls volleyball tournament at the St. Michael's/MC Knoll gymnasiums as well as Columbia and Yorkdale Central Public School. Yorkdale Central will be holding girls' matches. Volleyball play continues into today, after having started yesterday. Games are expected to run as late as 8-9 p.m. Anyone wishing further information is asked to contact Mr. Mark Schendel at (306) 786-5540.

The Saskatchewan Development Partners (Saskatchewan Hockey Association, Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League, Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League and the Western Hockey League) will award 24 scholarships annually to the members of the SHA, registered in one of the above leagues. Former Yorkton Jr. A Terrier Kurtis Decker (SJHL) and Kade Halabuza, Yorkton AAA Midget Harvest were both among the scholarship winners for 2010-11.

The local curling club will be hosting the Cornerstone Credit Union SWCT cash bonspiel on the first weekend of December. The tournament goes for three days.
