Sacred Heart and Esterhazy were both competing over the weekend at the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association (SHSAA) senior curling championships.

Both teams qualified for the regional playdowns in Raymore.

Esterhazy and Sacred Heart played each other on Saturday and Esterhazy won.

As a result, both Esterhazy and Sacred Heart will both qualify for the regional playdowns scheduled for Raymore.

Esterhazy and Sacred Heart won the right to advance to regionals by finishing 1-2 place respectively.

Esterhazy coach Trevor Kerr said he's got a strong team and they only needed to play two games in order to advance.

The Yorkton Regional High School girls team was also in the mix. Only two of the three teams could qualify.

Kerr said that both of his team's games came against Sacred Heart. The last of the two required extra ends, resulting in a one-point win for Esterhazy.

"Our girls just played consistent," Kerr said. Esterhazy's team includes Cortney Bartok, Jade Kerr, Jasmine Kerr and lead Brittney Lee.
