Coming off a 66-37 loss in Foam Lake on Tuesday, the Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) senior girls' basketball team came up with some strong basketball on the weekend.

They put together a 3-0 record while hosting their second mini tournament of the season in their home gym.

Led by Raelene Nagy's 20 points which she racked up in just 13 minutes, the Lady Raiders defeated Esterhazy.

All YRHS players scratched the scoring column in that opening contest.

Game two matched the 'orange' against the Regina Christian Academy.

"Trailing by eight points at the half, some strong defence, as well as Rebecca McLaren's best game of the season, propelled the Lady Raiders to a tightly-contested a 61-59 victory", says coach Tony Hayden.

Robyn Bendfeld with 18 points, and Nagy's 17 points, led the Raider scoring.

Not going un-noticed was Brandey Blahut's "clutch free throws" as well as McLaren's, adds coach Hayden.

They Raider's third game of the tournament pitted them against the Roblin Angels, said Hayden.

"Another closely-contested game, the girls managed their way through some costly turnovers to emerge with a 63-51 win."

Bendfeld was key again, noted Hayden.

"Ten-for-thirteen shooting and 19 rebounds and another solid performance by McLaren off the bench were key to the positive outcome."
