鈥淔edak and Willen both had great games for us,鈥 Peewee Gridder head coach Grant Edgar said during an interview following his team鈥檚 fourth win of the season, adding that while both Fedak and Deo Paligan get the glory, there was yet another player that factored in heavily when it came to putting points on the board. 鈥淥ur centre Justin Fookes was great. It was a cold, rainy day but his snaps were right on. We do a lot of stuff from the shotgun and between his snaps and his blocking, everything was on the money.

鈥淗is blocking was great, he made some huge holes and Willen (Deo Paligan) was able to walk right through.鈥

As for Deo Paligan, Edgar says that having someone such as him at his disposal during bad weather games is something that every coach dreams of. 鈥淚t鈥檚 definitely a huge asset for us, especially in bad weather games like that. It was cold, it was windy.

鈥淭he wind was swirling and we tried a few passing plays but the wind was just getting at the ball and making it hard, so we had to go to the ground and use our ground and pound type game and Willen, he gives you everything he has every play and it鈥檚 nice to half him out there for us.鈥

The win is Yorkton鈥檚 second consecutive shutout and fourth straight victory to open the 2015 Regina Minor Football season and leaves the Peewee Gridders alone atop the RMF Peewee standings, two points up on both the Balgonie North Griffins (3-0) and Regina Riders (3-0).

The Razorbacks, Vikings and Mustangs sit fourth, fifth and sixth respectively with 2-1 records and four points, while the Patriots and Thunder round out the top eight with identical 2-2 records.

The Regina Argos and Balgonie 麻豆传媒AV Griffins are 1-3 on the season while the Golden Hawks, Rams and Huskies all round out the bottom of the standings with 0-3 performances so far this campaign.

The next action for the Yorkton Peewee Gridders will be Sunday, September 13, when the Gridders (4-0) welcome the Regina Rams (0-3) to Century Field for a 1:00p.m. kickoff.
