This Saturday, Motocross racers from all of Saskatchewan are coming to Yorkton.
"It should be a very exciting event," said Rick Dawson, a promoter of the races. "Lots of racers are taking part and it will be Yorkton's last race on the year."
The event entails racers from five years old to adults of both genders. The racers are coming into the event hopeful to bump up their scores on the Saskatchewan Motorcycle Association's totem pole to come out on top of their racing categories.
"Throughout the year all of the racers get points in races and get ranked," said Dawson. "This race is a part of their ranking, so they'll want to have good performances."
The late-September racing event has been taking place in Yorkton for over 20 years, becoming quite popular over time.
"It's a race a lot of people look forward to," said Dawson. "A lot of talented riders come to town and it's exciting to be able to watch them all."
The races go from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. one mile north of Yorkton on Highway 9. Single tickets will be sold for $8 and children five and under get in for free with an adult.
