The Yorkton RawTec Maulers were back in action over the weekend after a long two-week break in their Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League action.

The Maulers started out their three-day road trip strong on Friday night, defeating the Saskatoon Blazers 5-3. Yorkton racked up three goals in the first period, from Zach McIntyre, Beau Stevenson and Ryder Pierson (PP). The second period saw one goal from the Blazers, but the Maulers came back with a strong third period and scored their remaining two goals. They came from Jordon Repsch (SH) and Keanan Sperling (PP).

The road trip continued on Saturday in Prince Albert against the Minotos. But the Maulers couldn’t keep their winning ways alive, and the Mintos won both contests. Saturday’s score was 6-2 and Sunday’s was 5-1.

The Maulers hold a 5-6-1-0 record at this point in the season for 11 points. They sit in seventh place in the league standings.

The Tisdale Trojans lead the league with 23 points, followed by the Prince Albert Mintos with 22 points.

Leading the Maulers in points so far this season is forward Jackson Berezowski, who has 11 points from three goals and eight assists. Zach McIntyre is right behind him with ten points from five goals and five assists, and Ryder Korczak with ten points from four goals and six assists.

The Maulers will play on the road again this weekend. After a long stretch away from home ice, they’ll return to the Farrell Agencies Arena on Thursday, November 16 when they’ll host the Moose Jaw Generals at 8 p.m.
