The girls need to turn things around for next weekend if they want to be considered a threat for provincials.

The YRHS Lady Raider senior volleyball team had a hard go of it in Swift Current this past weekend.
The Lady Raiders lost all five games they played, winning just three of the 13 sets they competed in during the tournament, falling to North Battleford in straight sets 22-25, 11-25 to open the tournament before dropping a straight set defeat to the host Swift Current Sr. Ardens 19-25, 12-25.
Those two losses saw the Lady Raiders finish in last place in Pool B before being reseeded into Pool CC, where they lost to Estevan (16-25, 25-18, 12-15) and Lumsden (25-23, 14-25, 10-15) meaning they moved on to the consolation side playoffs where they once again felt the sting of defeat, this time being dropped out of the tournament by Moose Jaw Central in three sets, 18-25, 25-19, 14-16.
Following the tournament Lady Raider head coach Rae-Lynn Somogyi told Yorkton This Week that the effort needs to be better if the Lady Raiders want to advance past Regionals. “The girls need to turn things around for next weekend if they want to be considered a threat for provincials,” offered Somogyi. “There will be some good teams in town next weekend at Regionals including the provincial champions from last year, Balgonie.”
Joining the Lady Raiders and Balgonie at the 2015 5A 鶹ýAV Region playoffs this coming weekend will be Moose Jaw Central, Moose Jaw Peacock, Estevan, Weyburn and Swift Current. The top three teams will advance to the Provincials in Martensville.
