Ten teams turned into two teams in about a day-and-a-half as MC Knoll beat St. Michael's in boys' action as the Yorkton Elementary School Sports Association (YESSA) volleyball championships.

The MC Knoll boys' team, coached by Dan Coomber and Michelle Pfeifer, outlasted St. Michael's in the boys' 'A' final, winning in two straight sets.

"Working as a teamit was true volleyball," quotes coach Pfeifer when asked how they were able out knock off everybody they played, three games on Tuesday and another three on Wednesday.

It was well past 7 p.m., when they were determined top team in the city.

She said they placed second in the round robin and notes that St. Paul's team and St. Mary's were among the biggest tests.

"Tyson Black was an excellent leader," Pfeifer told the press, "but they all played well".

MC Knoll won the finals, 2-0. They won the opening set 25-21 and the second set 25-17.
